The American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS) is one of the oldest professional societies in the
United States. Founded in 1909, its purpose is to improve the quality and standards of individual and family life through
programs that educate, influence public policy, disseminate information, and public research findings.

The West Virginia Association of Family and Consumer Sciences is an affiliate of the American Association of Family and
